All About Your Teacher, Mrs. Ward
Greetings, my name is Rachele Ward. I am a life-long resident of Cassopolis, Michigan. I graduated from Ross Beatty High School in 1990. After graduation, I attended Grand Valley State University and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Language Arts with a minor in Elementary Education in 1994. I was hired by Cassopolis Public Schools in the fall of 1994 as a fourth grade teacher. I happily taught fourth grade for eight years. In 2002, I decided I was ready for a change. My love of books and reading led me to the library where I taught classes for three years. In 2003, I received my Master's of Education with an Administrative Emphasis. In 2005, district budget cuts eliminated my library skills teaching position and I was blessed to be placed in the sixth grade which I taught for eleven years. This will be my first year teaching at the Jr/Sr High school in the 7th grade. I am excited about this new adventure and thankful that I get to move up with an amazing group of kids!
My husband, Scott, and I have four wonderful children, Tyler, Monica, Aidan, and Addison, who all attend Cassopolis Public Schools. We live on my family's farm just outside of Cassopolis. Our family is very involved in sports, raising animals for the fair, 4-H activities, and many other extra-curricular activities that keep us busy throughout the year. My oldest son, Tyler, is in his second year at Southwestern Community College and my daughter, Monica, will be starting her college career at Michigan State University this fall, and my twins will be in the 8th grade at Ross Beatty.
In what little free-time I have, I enjoy working on my scrapbooks, traveling with my family, and reading books. I also enjoy raising animals. We raise rabbits year round and in the spring we raise 4-H pigs, chickens, and sometimes calves or sheep. We spend most of our summer playing sports and preparing for the Cass County Fair.
I look forward to working with your child this school year!
